Crafting the Dreamforce Experience: From San Francisco to the World
In September 2022, Salesforce’s flagship event, Dreamforce, made a triumphant return to San Francisco, reuniting the global community of Trailblazers, innovators, and thought leaders. This annual event, which had been held virtually in previous years due to the pandemic, brought together over 40,000 in-person attendees at the Moscone Conference Center, along with a vast virtual audience through Salesforce+. Dreamforce 2022 was more than just a conference; it was a dynamic celebration of technology, innovation, and community, marked by major product announcements, insightful keynotes, and interactive sessions that set the tone for the future of cloud computing and customer relationship management.
NOMOBO was at the helm of media coverage for this monumental event, entrusted with the responsibility of capturing the essence of Dreamforce and delivering it to a global audience. The task was nothing short of colossal, involving the coordination of multiple production teams across various locations within the Moscone Center and beyond. NOMOBO’s role included the creation of over 550 hours of live and on-demand content, ensuring that every keynote, breakout session, and special event was documented and broadcast with the highest quality. The challenge lay not only in the scale of the production but also in the need for rapid turnaround times, with much of the content being made available within 24 hours of recording.
As a video editor on this project, I was deeply involved in the post-production process, working alongside a talented team to ensure that the final output met the high standards expected by both Salesforce and its audience. My role involved editing key segments of the event, including high-profile keynotes and exclusive interviews, to create engaging and polished content that could be distributed across multiple platforms. This required a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, as well as close collaboration with NOMOBO’s creative and technical teams to ensure a cohesive visual narrative.
Dreamforce 2022 was not just about showcasing Salesforce’s latest innovations; it was also a platform for addressing global challenges and advancing sustainability. The event featured numerous sessions focused on social impact, environmental stewardship, and the role of technology in creating a more equitable future. In line with these values, the production of Dreamforce 2022 was designed with sustainability in mind. NOMOBO implemented a streamlined production approach that minimized the environmental footprint, including a reduction in the onsite crew and an emphasis on remote collaboration. This approach not only aligned with Salesforce’s commitment to sustainability but also demonstrated the potential of innovative production techniques in reducing the environmental impact of large-scale events.
The success of Dreamforce 2022 was a testament to the power of collaboration and the seamless integration of technology and creativity. The event not only brought the Salesforce community together but also set a new standard for hybrid events, blending in-person and virtual experiences in a way that was both engaging and impactful. Being part of this project allowed me to contribute to a significant moment in the tech industry, where the future of work, technology, and sustainability converged on a global stage.
